Value of Motivation:

Small systems shape our day more than we realize.

How much value do you place on your morning routine? I had found myself with time turning to a blur. Days blended together as I worked on creating my own business, interrupted by bouts of reading and creative writing. The only measures of time I really had were a simple two-step automation that texted me a daily mantra, and tea with the family on Sundays. I was free to shape my mornings and fell into a routine I loved but something was lacking; My mantra had grown stale. So, I took a break from my portfolio-building and spent half an hour building something that would become very special to me.

A robust and dynamic motivational text automation; 7 simple steps. Every day, trigger at 6:15am. Generate two random numbers. Pull data from my table for the text’s tones and modifiers. Plug these variables into an LLM call with specific instructions. Text my phone the output. It took only 30 minutes to make and boosted my mood significantly at the start of each day.

Automation doesn’t have to be boring. It stands out as a means of removing the mundane to enable our strengths. A single automation quietly elevated my mornings into a more productive rhythm. I took delight in making it, and am looking forward to how it evolves over time.
